About

About Box Score Stories

A YouTube channel and this website about basketball history told by the numbers: records, eras, legendary games and the stats behind them.

What we do

Each video tells one story through its numbers: a record, a game, an era, a stat. On this site every video gets an article with what the video has no room for: the full table, a chart, a glossary and the sources.

How we work

  • Every number has a source and the date we checked it.
  • Our statistics come from Wikipedia, under its licence CC BY-SA 4.0, and we link to the exact version we used. Single facts also come from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. NBA.com's terms do not allow its statistics to be used on commercial websites, so we do not use them.
  • When a record falls, we update the number and the date.
  • We correct mistakes: write to hello@boxscorestories.com.

No betting

We do not give betting tips, we do not link to betting sites and we do not run betting ads. Not now, not later.

Independent

Box Score Stories is an independent channel and website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA or any team. League and team names are used only to describe facts. We do not use league or team logos, game footage or press photos.

Pictures

Our graphics and charts are our own. Images made with AI tools are marked “Illustration (AI)” and never show real players. If we show photos of players, they come from Wikimedia Commons with an open licence and are credited on the image credits page.
